I am so excited to be contributing to the Street Team blog.
I thought long and hard about what I wanted to share and I decided to share with you my current creative obsession: art journals.
I have been a dedicated journaler for more than twenty years. I still have journals from my junior high days. I started art journaling about six years ago. My latest journals are by far my favorites.. Why? Because they are free and non-judgemental. For the first time, I have stopped judging my art and just made whatever made me feel good. I gave myself permission to experiment and have fun. Art journals are the perfect place to do just that.
A few months ago, I put out a challenge for others to join me in starting an art journal. So, I am issuing the challenge to you. Go and get an sketch book or alter an old book. My favorite journals are altered books. There are no blank pages to look at and no guilt in messing up a page or a book. Gather a few simple supplies like paint, ink, scrap paper or everyday ephemera and just start creating. You can not do wrong with an art journal. They are visual representations of who you are and a lot of fun if you allow your mind to be free to create.

GORGEOUS, Lu! And a fab challenge! Art journals are just so liberating to create...you can express anything you want. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

I am inspired to pull out the art journal I made some time ago and actually put it to use! With a camping trip coming up I think that would be the perfect time to play and write just cuz.
Thanks for the nudge, Lu!
